I’ve tested a lot of home security cameras over the years, and the installation process has always been the part I’ve dreaded most.
Drilling, levelling brackets, climbing ladders, and committing a camera to a fixed position always made the process feel more complicated than it should be.
But the eufy C35 camera – that’s on sale at Amazon for £44.99 -changed that entirely with one simple, ingenious feature that allowed me to mount every camera on metal surfaces around my property in seconds – without sacrificing performance or stability – making it one of the best home security systems I’ve ever used.
Effortless installation with one ingenious feature

The magnetic mount on the eufy C35 is the feature that transforms the whole experience. I installed three cameras:
- One on a metal gate facing the garden
- One on a metal driveway gate
- One on a metal post overlooking the road
Each installation took seconds – literally. No tools, no screws, no measuring, and no drilling into uneven, hard-to-reach surfaces.
The magnets are strong enough to keep each camera secure through wind and rain, and the flexibility to reposition them instantly means I can change angles or coverage without any effort.
This is a huge contrast to my previous eufy setup, where I reviewed the S3 Pro and SoloCam S340. Those cameras delivered outstanding performance, but installation meant screwing them into my property’s exterior – a time-consuming job on pebble-dashed walls.
With the C35, not only is installation dramatically faster, but the magnetic design also doesn’t affect performance in the slightest.
Crisp resolution and PureColor night vision

Once installed, the C35’s image quality stood out immediately. The footage is sharp enough to capture vehicles approaching from the road, details in the garden, and movement at my gates with clarity that rivals far more expensive systems.
The PureColor Vision night mode is one of the most impressive features. Instead of the typical black-and-white infrared, the C35 records in full colour even in low light.
This makes identifying people, animals, or vehicles at night far easier, and it gives far more confidence reviewing footage if something happens after dark.
Smart AI detection and local storage with no subscription
Paired with the HomeBase Mini, the eufy C35 offers a fully subscription-free security setup – something that continues to set eufy apart.
The AI detection is quick and accurate, recognising:
- People
- Vehicles
- Pets
- Faces
- Movements within activity zones
What surprised me most was how naturally the system works together. Cross-camera tracking links the footage as someone moves across the property, meaning I see a full timeline rather than separate clips. And with local storage up to 1TB on the HomeBase Mini, I never have to worry about monthly fees or cloud subscriptions.
Wi-Fi range: A small limitation
To keep things realistic, the C35’s range is limited to how far it is from the Wi-Fi, which maxes out at roughly 20 yards from the router or HomeBase Mini.
My gate cameras sit well within this distance and work perfectly, but anyone installing further away may need a Wi-Fi extender or a more central HomeBase position.
Is the eufy C35 worth it?
Yes – without question. The C35 has the fastest and easiest installation I’ve experienced, yet it maintains the clarity, AI intelligence, and reliability I expect from eufy’s higher-end cameras.
The fact that its effortless magnetic mounting doesn’t reduce performance in any way makes it even more appealing.
The combination of simple installation, excellent colour night vision, accurate alerts, and subscription-free local storage makes the eufy C35 one of the most cost-effective home security systems you can buy.
And as someone who has dealt with screw-mounted systems like the S3 Pro and S340, I can safely say the C35 solves the biggest issue I’ve ever had with camera installations – while still delivering brilliant results.
