CertainTeed®, a subsidiary of Saint-Gobain and a leading North American manufacturer of building materials, announced that Grace Vycor™ underlayments will now be marketed and sold under the streamlined brand name Vycor®. This change, effective as of November 1, 2025, reflects the continued integration of the Grace Construction Products portfolio into the broader Saint-Gobain family, following the company’s acquisition of GCP Applied Technologies in September 2022.

While the name is evolving, customers can be assured that the product itself remains exactly the same — the same formulations, manufacturing processes, performance standards, and trusted protection the Vycor® brand has delivered for decades. “ICE AND WATER SHIELD® continues to offer the same proven quality and protection that contractors have relied on for decades. The product’s trusted performance, durability, and ease of installation remain unchanged—ensuring peace of mind for every project,” said Brian Chang, Senior Product Manager of Residential Underlayments for CertainTeed. “The updated brand name is simply the next step in aligning our products under the Saint-Gobain portfolio, while preserving the same great quality our customers know and trust.”
Vycor® brand has long set the standard for self-adhered flashing and weather barrier products, helping to prevent water infiltration and extend the life of building envelopes from the roof to wall and basement. By simplifying the brand name, CertainTeed aims to make it easier for customers to identify and specify the product, while reinforcing its commitment to innovation and performance in the building materials industry.
The updated branding will begin appearing on packaging, marketing materials, and the CertainTeed website in the coming months. During this transition period, customers may see both the Grace Vycor® and Vycor® branding in the marketplace, but both represent the same trusted product.
