TVS Designs First World-Class Cricket Venue for the Southeast

LaGrange, Georgia just made sports history. The highly anticipated LaGrange Cricket Stadium—a 10,500-seat world-class venue designed by Atlanta-based architecture and design firm TVS—officially broke ground yesterday. The stadium will stand as the Southeast’s premier cricket destination and a versatile new landmark for global sporting and entertainment events.

Honoring cricket’s heritage while capturing the energy of its growing international fan base, the venue blends innovation, accessibility, and Southern identity. Meeting International Cricket Council (ICC) standards, it will be eligible to host major international tournaments, including future Cricket World Cup matches.

Designed with fans in mind, the intimate bowl configuration brings spectators close to the natural turf pitch, while a cantilevered roof canopy provides shade and comfort. Modular east and west stands add flexibility for concerts, festivals and community gatherings, making the facility a year-round civic hub.

“The LaGrange Cricket Stadium’s groundbreaking marks a milestone for cricket fans across the Southeast and the United States,” says Robert Svedberg, Principal at TVS. “Our approach emphasizes flexibility, comfort, and connection, creating a stadium that cultivates the excitement surrounding the sport while adapting to every occasion and community need.”

TVS’s legacy in Georgia sports architecture includes landmarks like the Georgia Dome, Mercedes-Benz Stadium interiors, and the College Football Hall of Fame. Their latest design continues that tradition—placing Georgia at the forefront of global sport once again.
