YMCA of Coastal Georgia Leadership, in partnership with Brian Felder (Principal of Felder & Associates), cordially invites members of the media and the community to join them for the Groundbreaking of the Islands Family YMCA.

WHAT

The YMCA of Coastal Georgia will hold a ceremonial groundbreaking to officially begin the major renovation and modernization of the Islands Family YMCA branch. Brian Felder of local architecture firm, Felder & Associates, designed the updated facility to meet the evolving needs of the Islands community. The project is the next phase in the YMCA’s system-wide effort to upgrade and revitalize its coastal Georgia facilities, ensuring the Islands branch remains a vital hub for youth development, connection, wellness, belonging, healthy living, and social responsibility for decades to come.

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

The renovation project includes an additional 3,000 square feet of space and a complete interior modernization. Key features members can look forward to include:

• The Optim Ortho Space, which is a 3,000 sq/ft Rehab Center staffed with Rehab specialists.
• A reimagined lobby designed for relaxation and connection.
• Dedicated studios for yoga and cycling.
• Modernized locker rooms and a new post-workout recovery room.
• Engaging new spaces for children and teens, including an expanded Child Watch area and a Teen Tech Lab.
• Introduction of 24-hour fitness center access options.
