Veterans Care Expansion Drives Russell’s Growth

Coharbor Russell Group LLC, a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Business, and Oculus Inc. are proud to announce they have been awarded the contract for the construction of a new 14,000 s.f. Department of Veterans Affairs North Grand Boulevard Dermatology and Endocrinology Clinic in St. Louis, Missouri.

The project, set to break ground this fall, is located at the intersection of North Grand Boulevard and Finney Avenue, just two blocks from the John Cochran VA Medical Center. This strategic location situates the clinic within the heart of St. Louis’ medical complex, ensuring convenient access for veterans receiving care. The clinic will centralize dermatology and diabetes care, consolidating services currently scattered across the St. Louis metro area. This will create a streamlined experience for veterans, ensuring easier access to vital health services within the John Cochran campus. The $13.2 MM project is expected to be completed within 14 months, marking a significant milestone in Russell’s continued efforts to build great people, relationships, and communities in St. Louis and beyond.

Russell’s St. Louis-based team will lead the project, reaffirming the company’s strong commitment to the region. Coharbor Russell Group has partnered with Oculus Inc., a nationally recognized, women-owned architecture and interior design firm based in St. Louis, marking their second collaboration on a VA project. This partnership exemplifies Russell’s strategic focus on fostering meaningful relationships since entering St. Louis in 2020.

“It is with great civic pride that Russell continues to live our core value of community by investing in the North Grand neighborhood and delivering this much-needed clinic. This project represents a meaningful step toward enhancing care for our veterans while contributing to the revitalization of St. Louis,” said Matt Stack, Russell St. Louis Market President.

The clinic aligns with the City of St. Louis’ strategic plan to revitalize neighborhoods and breathe new life into underserved areas. Replacing two vacant buildings, this project supports the city’s mission of fostering community renewal and development. Incorporating green building initiatives, the facility is designed to provide advanced medical care while promoting sustainability.

“This is a great win for veterans in St. Louis,” said Lisa Bell-Reim, Oculus Inc. President. “After successfully collaborating on the Kingston Pike VA Dental Clinic with Russell, we’re thrilled to work with them again, bringing our extensive government experience to support the VA right in our backyard.”

This project is a direct result of Russell’s ongoing growth in government work, furthering its strategic plan to expand its portfolio in this sector. With over $570 MM in city, state, and federal government projects successfully completed, the firm continues to demonstrate its operational excellence and commitment to serving the community.
