Ball Janik LLP proudly announces that experienced construction attorney Franchesco “Frank” Soto has joined the firm as a partner in its Miami office. With more than two decades of litigation experience representing building owners (including condominium and homeowners’ associations), Soto’s addition marks the further expansion of Ball Janik’s South Florida presence and enhances its ability to serve owners with construction defect issues.
Soto brings a proven track record of securing multimillion-dollar recoveries for owners with construction defect issues. His deep litigation background, combined with a focused understanding of the unique challenges facing South Florida’s community associations, makes his addition a strategic win for Ball Janik and its clients.
“Frank’s experience, particularly his success advocating for associations in complex construction disputes, positions him to make an immediate impact on both our practice and the market,” said James C. Prichard, Managing Partner of Ball Janik LLP. “As construction continues to boom in Florida, so too does the need for skilled attorneys who can hold developers and contractors accountable. Frank’s arrival reinforces our commitment to providing clients with experienced and trusted legal advocates.”
Prior to joining Ball Janik, Soto served as Chair of the Construction Department at a Miami-based law firm, representing associations and property owners with construction defect claims. For more than two decades, Soto has served as the trusted legal advisor to luxury high-rise condominiums and other major community associations. His litigation practice also includes defending financial institutions in breach of contract claims, real estate disputes, and consumer protection matters, providing him with a comprehensive understanding of the many forces at play in Florida’s construction market.
Recognized for his legal acumen, Soto has been named to the Florida Super Lawyers list annually from 2014–2025 and was honored by The Best Lawyers in America® for Construction Law, including being named “Lawyer of the Year” in 2023 for Litigation – Construction in Miami. He is a fellow and past trustee of the Construction Lawyers Society of America.
“I’m excited to join a firm with a clear and focused commitment to representing associations in construction defect litigation,” said Soto. “Ball Janik’s reputation and results are superlative, and I look forward to delivering exceptional results for Ball Janik’s clients in this rapidly evolving market.”
Soto earned his J.D. from Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad College of Law, where he served as associate editor of the Journal of International Law and Comparative Studies, and holds a bachelor’s degree in English Language and Literature from Florida International University.
