The Danish software company Dalux has released new figures for 2024, reporting a significant milestone in its growth: USD 100 million in annual revenue.
Following a reported decade of consistent 40%+ year-over-year growth, the company now claims to be Europe’s largest BIM software provider based on its active user base. According to Dalux, its platform is currently used by 1.7 million professionals across 150 countries.
This growth distinguishes Dalux in a market typically dominated by large, publicly traded conglomerates. Unlike major competitors, Dalux operates as a fully bootstrapped, founder-owned entity with no external debt or venture capital investment.
Key figures from the 2024 report
Dalux’s latest press release highlights several key metrics regarding its market footprint, particularly in the UK and Europe:
- Revenue: USD 100 million (up from USD 1 million ten years ago).
- User Base: 1.7 million active monthly users.
- UK Presence: Software deployed on approximately 7,800 active construction projects in the UK.
- Data Volume: Users upload 1.2 million BIM models and capture 1 million 360° SiteWalk images monthly.
A significant portion of this recent growth appears to be driven by Dalux Field and its SiteWalk feature. This tool allows site teams to capture 360° photos via helmet-mounted cameras, which the software then automatically maps to the 3D BIM model.
According to Dalux, usage of SiteWalk has tripled over the last 12 months. The company cites John Sisk & Son as a primary example of this adoption. The UK contractor reports that it has moved away from third-party capturing services in favor of Dalux’s integrated solution to manage site progress and quality control.
The value SiteWalk brings can be difficult to fully quantify — you rarely know how many issues or misunderstandings are prevented simply by having accurate site data and visual evidence immediately to hand. What we do know is that it has transformed how we capture, review, and communicate site progress.

Data sovereignty as a strategic focus
While larger global competitors dominate the design software market (CAD/authoring tools), Dalux attributes its success in the construction and field management sector to a focus on European data sovereignty.
Torben Dalgaard, CEO and co-founder, states that public and private customers in Europe are increasingly prioritizing suppliers who can guarantee data remains hosted within the EU or UK. The company asserts that remaining privately owned enables it to maintain this strategic focus without pressure from public shareholders.
