Deceuninck North America Welcomes Students on Manufacturing Day

Deceuninck North America welcomed students from local high schools to its Monroe production facility in celebration of Manufacturing Day and Manufacturing Month, a nationwide initiative designed to inspire the next generation of manufacturing professionals. The October event provided hands-on learning experiences and direct exposure to the wide range of career opportunities available within the industry. Students in grades 9-12 toured multiple departments, engaged with Deceuninck team members and leaders, and learned about the company’s role in PVC window and door profile manufacturing.

During the visit, students toured several areas of the facility, including the testing and materials labs, tooling, CNC department, extrusion floor, and lamination operations. Deceuninck team members shared their personal career paths, day-to-day responsibilities, and the skills needed to thrive in the field. “We are committed to helping build a strong and prepared workforce,” said Monica Cummins, VP of human resources at Deceuninck North America. “Creating pathways for students to learn about manufacturing helps support our local community and ensures continued growth in this essential industry.”

Students also took part in demonstrations and hands-on activities, giving them a practical understanding of how high-performance building products are made and the level of technical skill, collaboration, and problem-solving that goes into the work. “Workforce development starts long before graduation. Giving students real access to local employers strengthens our schools, our businesses, and our community,” said Rick Pearce, President/CEO of The Chamber of Commerce serving Middletown, Monroe and Trenton (OH). “Deceuninck has been a strong partner in helping build that pipeline for the next generation of talent.” Deceuninck North America will continue its engagement with area schools, further supporting career exploration, workforce readiness, and STEM education.
