Eden Prairie, MN – Aspen Estates, a new assisted living and memory care facility, is set to bring a personalized, home-like experience to residents in Eden Prairie. The inspiration for Aspen Estates comes from founder Bill Welch, whose vision was shaped by the passing of his father in a large senior care facility.
“Many don’t realize how intentional you need to be when designing and building an assisted living facility,” said Dave TeBrake, Executive Vice President of Miller Architects and Builders. “Especially when memory care is included in the building. Aspen Estates was created where every resident feels seen, valued, and cared for like family, and we are proud to add our assisted living expertise to this project.”
The new 11,016-square-foot, single-level facility in Eden Prairie is designed for comfort and connection, offering 15 units — 13 single and 2 double — to accommodate up to 17 residents. Each suite includes a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and an electric fireplace with a stone façade and wood mantel. At its center, a welcoming gathering area features a full-height stone fireplace, vaulted ceilings with faux wood beams, and a large kitchen island for residents to bake, share meals, and connect. Additional amenities include a spa room, a library, and outdoor spaces, including a covered patio, a fenced walking path, and raised garden beds. High-end finishes and warm wood details create a luxury residential feel, supported by essential spaces like a commercial kitchen, medicine room, business office, nurse’s station, and single-stall garage. The exterior will showcase stonework, abundant windows, and a vaulted roofline with faux wood accents, along with parking for 11 vehicles. Construction begins in fall 2025, with opening planned for late summer 2026. The Welch family will remain deeply involved to ensure Aspen Estates stays true to its mission of providing compassionate, hands-on care in a home-like setting.
