HSE ramps up registered building inspectors recruitment

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is recruiting four registered building inspectors to join the Building Safety Regulator (BSR) on a permanent basis.

The hybrid full-time roles are remunerated with an annual salary between £60,760 and £65,776 and come with a Civil Service pension with an average employer contribution of 28.97%.

Part-time applications will also be considered for candidates able to commit to a minimum of 30 hours per week.

Responsibilities include reviewing and peer reviewing complex Building Control submissions and offering technical guidance to caseworkers and regulatory leads.

The successful candidates will also work with the BSR to provide specialist advice to multidisciplinary teams on the interpretation and application of the Building Regulations 2010.

Applicants must be qualified Building Control professionals with demonstrable competence to work on higher-risk buildings and registered as a Class 3 Category H Registered Building Inspector.

They must also be full members of CIOB, RICS, CABE or equivalent body.
